It Really Is Love ....

From the moment Nikolas first laid on eyes on Mia back in November 2007, it was love.  Infact if I am being totally honest, Nikolas loved her before she was even born. Even though we didn't know what we were having (only my Mum did) Nikolas always knew it was a girl. And told us so!

The very moment they first met at the hospital on 1 November 2007.  That moment was so very special to me!
I guess he felt a connection right from the very beginning.

And over the years as they get older the dynamic continues to change between them.  Nowadays, they fight alot more.  But they really do love each other.

You can just tell by the way they pause for extra long goodbyes with each other at the morning school drop off.  They hug, kiss and say "I love you, have a good day".  And even though that happens every school day, it doesn't get old to me, my heart melts every time.

As well as being brother and sister, they are the best of friends too.  And I never want that to change.

They laugh themselves silly sometimes, they fight over sharing, they bicker about whose turn it is next, they play together, they craft and draw together and love hard for each other.

Nikolas really is a fantastic big brother and loves to teach Mia everything he knows.  It is very special.

I hope they will always share that special bond as the years pass by.  I know they will fight but I hope they get over it five minutes later and continue on with being best friends.

That's what I wish for them!

E is for ................ Engagement!

This post is part of A-Z all about me {weekly blog challange} over at 'Love Kate'!

Today is our anniversary!  Our 15th year anniversary!  We have been together for 15 whole years and that makes me happy!

I was 17 when we first started dating and David was 22.  He was my first true love.  And like anyone we have had our ups and downs over the years.  But as we hit this milestone I am the happiest I have ever been in our relationship.

We got engaged when I was 21.  He proposed to me on the top of Elephant Rock at Currumbin Beach on Valentines Day.  And in 2012, we are still engaged.

We had planned to get married back in September 2002 (so we would be 10 years married this year) but for one reason or another we didn't and it suits us just the way it is.

In our time together we have had 2 babies, bought and sold real estate, built a home we love, travelled overseas, planned, dreamed, laughed, cried and loved.  We are happy!

Over the years many of our friend's relationships have broken down and they have been divorced and have re-married.  And even though we may not be married, our relationship feels so strong.

I feel as though I am lucky to have someone that makes it possible for me to be where I need to be while my babies are young.  And as my biggest role in life is to be a mumma, I am so happy that I get to work from home on my own business after years as a stay at home mum.
Whenever I tell David about a new dream or wish, he never ever tells me I am silly.  He supports me.  He does whatever he needs to do to make it happen.  In the last few weeks I told him I wanted to expand my Dreamy Creations product line.  Ever since he has been building late into the night after working really long days on my new products.  This makes my heart happy!

We may spend alot of time wrestling, jumping out from behind walls to scare each other, and laughing our heads off.  But I love seeing the kid's faces when I catch them watching us out of the corner of my eye when we are cuddling or sneaking a kiss.  Their little faces have a smile from ear to ear.  They know we love each other!

Tonight my sister offered to watch the kids while we out to celebrate.  But we decided it wouldn't be the same without them there.  So we will celebrate all together .... just as it should be.

As The Years Go On..

As I get older I realise that I have learnt and continue to learn so much.  I seem to think more.  There is always thoughts in my head about why things are they way they are.  In between insane moments of my busy days I think about how important it is to take time to enjoy all the special little things in life.  Simple things, like how good my hot coffee tastes on a cold winter morning or stopping in my tracks to trace the cloud scatter with my eyes on a beautiful afternoon sunset.  I have considered lately how fast life seems to be slipping past everyone.  It really does just seem to be getting busier.

Around the age of 30, a feeling I had inside began to grow.  A feeling that I wanted to seek more, do more and be more.  I always have lists scribbled down on pieces of paper of things I want to accomplish.  However, often those pieces of paper seemed to join all the other pieces of paper in the bills pile and they would be forgotten about {the lists - not the the bills}.   Things have begun to change though.  Things I have written on those lists are happening.  I am making sure they are and it feels good.

It's funny what the power of a saying has and one saying that has really reminded me to stop doubting myself and reach for my dreams has been 'Believe you can'.  I came across a bracelet online in America which was stamped with those exact words.  Now when I wear it I am constantly reminded to believe in myself.

For the first time in a long time I have stopped myself from being the only person stopping me to achieve all I wish for.  I have decided to shoot for the stars.  Because even if I fall I'll land amoung the stars.
